Dave Harrison is the Program Director, the host of the Morning Show, and lead play-by-play announcer at BIG COUNTRY 97. Dave was born and raised in Abilene, and has spent the majority of his career at radio stations in and around the Abilene area. Dave is no stranger to BIG COUNTRY 97... having served as program director, air personality, and sports play-by-play announcer twice before: from 1981 to 1983, and from 1987 to 1990.
Dave began his radio career in 1976 as a play-by-play announcer and color analyst for McMurry Indians football and basketball broadcasts on KNIT Radio in Abilene. Before long, Dave found his niche as an air personality at KWKC Radio in Abilene.
But Dave is more than just an air personality and play-by-play announcer. During his career, Dave has also served in an on-air programming capacity at many other radio stations. In addition to BIG COUNTRY 97, those stations include Country Gold KOES, Kicker 107, Oldies 98 KKHR, Country 99.7 KBCY, Classic Country 106.3 KHXS, KEAN 105, KOOL 92, Sports Radio 1340 AM KYYD, and The Sports Authority KGMM 1280 AM in Abilene. Dave also has worked in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, serving as an air personality and play-by-play announcer, as well as in an on-air programming capacity at Solid Gold 1140 AM KCLE in Cleburne and at Country Gold 92.1 KTFW in Fort Worth.
