Dave Harrison, Programming Director

Dave Harrison is the Program Director, the host of the Morning Show,

and lead play-by-play announcer at BIG COUNTRY 97. Dave was born

in Abilene, and graduated from Abilene High School. He also attended

McMurry College for a short time before beginning his radio career.

Dave has spent the majority of his career working at radio stations

located in and around the Abilene area. He is no stranger to BIG

COUNTRY 97… serving as the program director, on-air personality,

and sports play-by-play announcer from 1981 to 1983… and from 1987

to 1990.

Dave ‘s love of sports led to the beginning of his radio career in 1976

as a play-by-play announcer and color analyst for McMurry Indians

football and basketball broadcasts on KNIT Radio in Abilene. Before

long, Dave found his niche as an air personality at KWKC Radio in

Abilene.

But Dave is more than just an air personality and play-by-play

announcer. During his career, Dave has also served in an on-air

programming capacity at many other radio stations, including Country

Gold KOES, Kicker 107, Oldies 98 KKHR, Country 99.7 KBCY, Classic

Country 106.3 KHXS, KEAN 105, KOOL 92, Sports Radio 1340 AM

KYYD, and The Sports Authority KGMM 1280 AM in Abilene.
